White River Academy’s staff draws on a wide range of skills to provide treatment and care for students.
We understand our students’ fears, insecurities and emotional and behavioral needs and employ a variety of therapeutic interventions to teach teenage boys how to better understand their own thoughts and make better decisions. We also use techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy as part of our therapeutic efforts.
Jamie Orullian has been a dedicated member of the White River Academy team for nearly 11 years. She began her career as a Parent Liaison, later serving as Event Coordinator before being appointed Program Director in 2022.
Justin Nielson is the Executive Director of White River Academy and Mountain Valley Recovery, where he leads programs focused on therapeutic support, structure, and life-skills development.
Thomas Howell serves as the Assistant Program Director at White River Academy. He joined the organization in 2021 as support staff, advancing through management into his current leadership role, where he now oversees support staff, managers, scheduling, and general operations.
Heidi Sloan is the Finance Manager for White River Academy and Mountain Valley Recovery, where she has served since 2023. She directs comprehensive financial operations, bookkeeping, and day-to-day account management across both therapeutic facilities, overseeing accounts payable, receivable, and vendor relations.
Wendy Rowley currently serves as the Human Resources and Payroll Manager at White River Academy, where she began her journey in 2025 as a Parent Liaison. With over 16 years of experience in the financial and banking industry, Wendy brings strong organizational, customer service, and administrative expertise to her role.
Heather Stevens is a dedicated professional and the Academic Director at White River Academy. Drawing on her valuable entrepreneurial experience, she brings a practical, career-focused approach to her leadership, overseeing academic operations, instructional quality, and staff development.
Kylin graduated BYU with a bachelors in Psychology and a masters in Social Work. He has extensive background in research and addiction as well as certification in sex addiction therapy. He has been practicing in the treatment industry for over 10 years and shares a specific and intentional passion of working with teens.
Brennon is a Certified Social Worker (CSW) and mental health therapist with experience providing therapy to adolescents and adults in outpatient, school-based, and community mental health settings. He earned a bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Family Life & Human Development from Southern Utah University and a Master of Social Work from Brigham Young University.
Sadie is a therapist at White River Academy. Her passion for working with children, adolescents, and families began while supporting youth in crisis and working alongside foster and adoptive families. Those experiences sparked a lasting interest in attachment, trauma, and resilience.
Abigail is a Science and CTE Teacher at White River Academy. She has experience working with children in a variety of educational settings, including elementary schools and swim schools. She completed her education at Southern Utah University and she is continuing her studies through Western Governors University.
Talyah has been working in the academic realm within treatment for the last 6 years. Last year, she became the Social Studies teacher for White River Academy, covering topics such as history, geography, psychology, and a sprinkle of health. Talyah received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Brigham Young University.
Reg has been professionally teaching Mathematics to grades 6 through college since 2010. He holds an Associate degree, two Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Math Education, and a Master’s of Teaching Mathematics. Along with his degrees in Mathematics, he also has a Spanish minor and coursework in music for teaching choir.
Steve Brown has been an English language arts educator for over 25 years. He received his BA in English from Southern Utah University in 1999 and began teaching on the Navajo Nation that same year. Before coming to WRA, he taught middle school for many years and also served as a school improvement coordinator and outside consultant.
Brittney Thomas is the Kitchen Manager at White River Academy. She has been part of the kitchen team since 2017 and became Kitchen Manager in 2023.
Loren Pence brings more than 20 years of experience working with at-risk youth and individuals facing life challenges. Throughout his career, he has developed a diverse skill set spanning youth mentorship, facility operations, technology systems, maintenance, and infrastructure management.
Kristy Moody has been a dedicated member of the team at White River Academy since 2019. She currently serves in the Medical Department as a CNA / Medical Assistant and Client Coordinator, where she combines her clinical expertise with a commitment to supporting clients and their families.
Morgan Harris is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner currently serving at White River Academy, where he provides comprehensive medical care, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
